Travel Franchises That Run Their Own Outlets
Ranked on the share of outlets the franchisor operates itself rather than franchising. A franchisor running none of its own units earns from selling franchises and collecting royalties, and carries none of the operating risk it is asking a franchisee to take. Company-owned units mean the franchisor finds out first when the model stops working.
Computed from Item 20 of each brand's Franchise Disclosure Document and recomputed as coverage grows. Brands are excluded where the filing's own outlet arithmetic doesn't balance — a mis-parsed table should not outrank a correct one. This list has never been, and cannot be, paid for. How this is calculated.
